Road Side Drive In Mini Golf

The main recreation attraction of Endless Road Trip will be a pair of small, nine hole mini golf courses located in each tower and taking up one of the middle floors. Hollywood Drive In Golf will take on two themes depending on the tower. The Tiki tower will obviously feature a Polynesian inspired mini adventure featuring a trip through a volcano as the centerpiece of the course. The Retro tower is themed to a Roswell style desert with a bunch of alien shenanigans taking place around the different holes culminating in a climatic trip through the course's centerpiece crash landed UFO.

Each of the two courses will have very similar layouts with slightly different obstacles along the individual holes. Essentially the courses will be broken up into three "acts" of three holes each. The first act will give guests an overview of the are they'll be playing in, including a great "establishing shot" of the course's centerpiece. The second act takes guests deeper into the location with more challenging hazards and unique set pieces. The final act takes place in the centerpiece, offering a memorable finale.

The Tiki course begins with an establishing shot of a rain forest at night being disrupted by an erupting volcano. Both of the courses will feature night time "indoor/outdoor" lighting. After wrapping around the side of the volcano, the second act takes guests deeper into the jungle for a waterfall set piece as well as a hole taking place through a Jungle Cruise inspired hippo lagoon. Finally, guests make their way into the actual volcano, where landing a ball into the final hole miraculously stops the eruption.

The Retro course starts with an establishing shot of the UFO against a night time desert setting. AA animals such as snakes, coyotes, and prairie dogs are obviously disturbed by the alien presence. The set pieces of act two include a gas station with parked cars that have all been seemingly abandoned mid-pump and a road side gift stand selling cheesy alien merchandise. Heading deep into the UFO for the final act, landing a ball in the final hole reveals a text transmission on the ship's motherboard computer which reads "EARTH DATA COLLECTED. NOW LEAVING PLANET". It seems a single golf ball is all the aliens needed to complete their research, leaving the guests once again as the heroes.

Resort Pool

Hidden in the Krakatau Crater courtyard is the standout relaxation attraction. Featuring three water slides (A shoot-the-chute and two twirly tube slides), one large pool, and a hot tub. The surrounding area is themed and inspired by Universal's Volcano Bay, which hitches on the popular Tiki craze of the 50's. Throughout the area you can find small splash pads, leaky tikis, rattan chairs, and general Pacific themeing that remains the craze, yesterday and today.

Elevator Antics!

One of the big selling points of the Endless Road Trip Resort is the system of fully themed elevators. Each time a guest wants to travel to a different floor within the hotel's two towers, they will do so in style through immersive lighting, motion bases, and interior design that bring every individual elevator throughout the resort to boldly creative life. The elevators will take inspiration from a very special one found within the Walt Disney Family Museum and aims to very literally take what was established there and bring the art of themed elevators to the "Next Level".

The elevators will be divided up into two distinct sub categories. Major attractions such as Toothsome's Top Floor Pit Stop and the two Road Side Drive In mini golf courses will all use individual themed elevators that will essentially act as a pre-show for these cornerstone experiences.

The other category is simply called "The Route". Each tower holds six elevator banks which take guests up to different dining options, resort amenities, and the actual rooms. Each tower will feature six unique "vehicle" elevators in the style of their theme, in addition to the Toothsome's elevator in the Retro tower and the mini golf pre-show elevators in each tower.

The Toothsome's elevator will be themed to a hot air balloon. Penelope Tinker Toothsome doesn't have the budget for a full blown steampunk Zeppelin blimp at this point in her career, but she still aims to carry the guests to her "Top Floor" establishment in style! The air balloon interior will take on familiar gold and brown hues more in line with the Chocolate Emporium design to act as a misdirection for when guests actually see the neon-drenched interior of Toothsome's pitstop, making for a dramatic and cinematic entry experience for new guests in addition to the elevator trip.

To round out the theme there is an AA of Jacques controlling the hot air balloon. Fans simulate gusts of wind, and a bouncy platform gives guests the illusion of nothing but a wicker basket under their feet. Fully immersive screens and a practical "balloon" prop above guests heads really go out of their way to complete the illusion.

The elevators up to the mini golf courses will be themed to 1970s family mini vans. Large, spacious, nostalgic, and oh-so carpeted. The mini vans will serve as a transitional point where you and the other guests in the elevator are part of a "family" headed up to the drive in movie theater. Once those elevator doors open out into the actual courses and the indoor/outdoor night time lighting fully kicks in, guests realize they've just stepped foot into the movie they were just headed to the drive-in to experience.

Finally, the elevators along "The Route" will be themed to different vehicles one could find along route 66, all with bumpy floor bases and blowing fans for that "cruising with the windows down" feeling. Vehicles featured on "The Route" are hippy vans, trains, a state of the art RV, and a sports car. The elevators will all offer very similar experiences except for the interior designs, but the variety will go a long way towards making guests simply navigating the hotel feel like they're on an actual road trip down Route 66.
