Our Rooms

Themed Room Styles

As previously mentioned each floor of the resort has a unique, yet subtle, stylistic tribute to the architecture and interior design of the 1950s. Each room has been carefully crafted with Universals design team to include nostalgic tributes in the furniture, fixtures, and décor. The rooms blend the modern desire for clean and simple spaces yet deeply inspired by shapes, patterns, and palettes of the era. The floors and rooms fall into four general categories:

The Great American Outdoors

Inspired by the increased interest in the country’s Natural Parks and beauty of the age; the Great American Outdoors. With colors and designs inspired by the country’s famous natural wonders like the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, and other destinations these rooms are perfect for the outdoors lovers in your family. With soft wood accents, natural colors, and décor inspired by the scenic beauty of the country these rooms may inspire your next family vacation to be a camping trip…maybe.

Jukebox Diner

Few styles are a recognizable for the 1950s post-war era as the Jukebox Diner; with heavy neon accents and brighter colors these rooms make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to grab a root beer float after attending a sock hop. Metal, checkered, and subtle colors make these rooms perfect for the music lover (and yes every room comes with a mini-jukebox).

The Island Life

Following the post-war interest in the Pacific as well as the ratification of Hawaii’s statehood in the late 1950s led to a massive cultural love of all things Polynesian. The Beachcomber rooms pay tribute to this “Tiki Pop”, a fondly remembered moment of American architecture, incorporating dark wood sculptural elements and décor welcoming guests to their own personal hideaway.

Space Race

The 1950s-60s were a time of great possibilities especially as we looked to the stars. The fascination of the Space Race age translated into its own unique style; Googie. The Space Race rooms incorporate the curved shapes, modern colors, and futuristic styles of the days when man raced to get to the moon.

The Endless Roadtrip is a resort that pays tribute to the iconic styles and aesthetic of the Great American Roadtrip; a post-war era of expanded travel and leisure for the everyday American family. Inspired by the mid-century modern style of the era the over 500 guest rooms offered at the hotel also pay tribute to the unique styles of that era creating a perfect blend of timeless nostalgia, modern comforts, yet still elevated in style. The hotel rooms are divided into two stylistic themes, one in each of the towers that pull from the 1950-60s era of American pop culture. The styles themselves tint the room architecture and furnishings without becoming overwhelming or gaudy (this isn’t a John Waters film).

Common Areas

The hallways and common areas of the resort take inspiration from the motor court motels that dotted Route 66 in its heyday. Great attention to detail is paid in the design incorporating elements of the mid-century modern style and iconic detail of the era. The elevator lobby on each floor is accompanied by a unique neon motel sign with the name of a famous Route 66 stop and number guides. Each floor also has its own unique color scheme to match the designated “motel”. The hallways are lined with colorful doors with thematic accents, highway and other road signs, and advertisements for the extremely mundane tourist attractions that have become infamous in their own right (everyone came to Orlando to see the World’s Largest Ball of String right)?
